The 50 Things of Christmas
For those who thought we'd never do a Christmas edition of 50 Things..., this month we present 25 Stupid Things About "The Next Doctor" (and 25 Cool Ones) (It's a Tie, Folks!). Packed full of inside references, postmodern posings and Dickensian capers, it's a great 45 minute story... problem is, it's 60 minutes long.

"Witchfinder General" it's not
For this edition of 50 Things..., we go to the seventeenth century for a Doctor Who tale which, despite featuring plague, invasion and the Great Fire of London, we found actually rather boring. But never mind, because once again we've done our research and discovered many interesting facts, which we can bring you in 30 Stupid Things About "The Visitation" (and 20 Cool Ones).

Gareth Thomas 1945-2016
We are very sorry to hear about the death of Gareth Thomas earlier today. Gareth had been a friend of Magic Bullet for decades, reprising his role as Blake in the two Blake's 7 plays "The Mark of Kane" and "The Logic of Empire", as well as appearing with Brian Croucher in our satirical play "When Travis Met Blake." He will be very much missed.

Return of the Doctor
In his third and (for now!) last article, James Cooray Smith tackles another controversial question: during the 1989-2005 hiatus period, who was the official Doctor Who? It wasn't Paul McGann, and it wasn't Sylvester McCoy, but someone most unexpected... read all about it in Jon The Second.

The Fall of Atlantis
This month, we feature the second of two articles by Kaldor City author James Cooray Smith: Women of Paris, Men from Atlantis. Was the success of Doctor Who story "City of Death" entirely down to there being an ITV strike that month? Was the ratings fall of the 1980 season really down to John Nathan-Turner's production style? The answers are in the numbers... and they may surprise you!

Free Zine from the Doctor Who Appreciation Society!
The DWAS are making their celebrated zine, Cosmic Masque, available free to download.
From their website:
"Cosmic Masque was first published by the Society back in 1977, and was at that time a vehicle for fan fiction. The magazine appeared regularly up to issue 25, when publication ceased until a special download was produced in 2013.
The new volume of Cosmic Masque is all about 'being a fan' and as well as the traditional staple of fan fiction, also features merchandise and book reviews and articles on on some of the many things we, as Doctor Who fans, get involved with to pursue our interest in the Time Lord. "
